Interactive Map of New Orleans

Time.com has a well-rendered interactive map of New Orleans showing the places where the levees were breached and the extent of the flooding. There are also some haunting photos in the galleries if you want to depress yourself.

On the topic of Katrina's aftermath, my wife and I never did get contacted about hosting any "refugees." We had posted our home as having a bedroom available online but from the looks of it the response from the Jacksonville community was very good. It was gratifying to see so many people here in Jax offering to house survivors; there must have been a couple hundred listings on the site we posted our house on. I clicked around and there must have been thousands of listings countrywide.
