Alabama Governor Grandstands Against Aruba
Since we're not happy with how we've been treated by the Aruban government, let's boycott the whole country. That's right, we'll punish them all for the alleged misdeeds of a few.
This just further cements much of the rest of the world's opinion that Americans are just a bunch of spoiled brats who want everything their way. The whole media frenzy over the Natalee Holloway case exemplifies our obsession with youth, beauty and foul play. I hate to say it but does anyone really think this girl's disappearance would command this amount of attention if she weighed 300 pounds?
Interestingly enough, Natalee's father apparently wrote a letter to Governor Riley endorsing the Aruban government and asking that no boycott be initiated. (Thanks riehlworldview.com)
