This is Your War
This is one of the many milblogs (military web logs) out there, and it's a good one. I may not agree with all of this soldier's politics, but I think I can understand—as much as any noncombatant possibly can—how he feels the way he does a lot of the time. In spite of the frequent typos, this fellow can really paint a vivid and even poetic picture of what it's like to have your boots on the ground in Iraq.
Not to gush over the "power of the Internet," but I think it's fantastic that our troops, if they so choose, can connect through their blogs with the outside world—loved ones, friends, co-workers back home, even complete strangers who just happened to surf in. Granted, they have to censor themselves heavily, but their blogs can make for some fascinating reading. And any support these soldiers get in the form of visitor comments left on their blogs has got to be a boon for morale.
I bet it's a bitch for most of them to even get any quality time on an Internet-connected computer over there.
