Justice served?
I just read that Philip Cooney, the chief of staff to President Bush’s Council on Environmental Quality who had been called on the carpet recently for making questionable edits to a report that downplayed the possible link between human activity and global warming, has resigned.
I ranted about this guy the other day, so this is particularly gratifying news.
I agree with Mr. Clapp's statement in the New York Times article that the bigger issue here is why such a powerful oil industry lobbyist was given named to this position in the first place. The next question is, will this administration make the same mistake twice? Sadly, given the Bush administration's strong ties to big oil, I think I know the answer to that question already.
